The aim of this book is to make people aware of the great need for change in our society which is evidenced today by the seeming lack of direction from the classroom to the boardroom and in government’s world wide.
Riley asserts that we are all part of the one whole, and if we work together rather than separately we will build a strong vibrant society where people will have hope, dignity and self-worth.
The book presents a spiritual perspective of how society could evolve in terms of the key issues of democracy, climate change, health and in particular a form of education based on human values, which provides a strong foundation on which children can build their lives.
Many interesting suggestions are made based on research into the controversies surrounding the life of Jesus and Christianity as a whole.

THE FULL CIRCLE - added November 2023
My book, published in 2008, is based on my previous experiences, certainly since the early 90’s. For example, I criticised the New Testament, as in Chapter 8, ‘The Influence of Rediscovered Manuscripts’ – ‘The Essene Gospel of Peace’: In the foreword to his book Edmund Bordeaux Szekely explains that ‘the words of Jesus were not collected till some generations after they were uttered and that they have been misunderstood, wrongly annotated, hundreds of times rewritten and transformed. Accordingly, the New Testament, which is utilised by all the Christian Churches provides a deeply flawed version of the words of Jesus.
I’ve been reading two volumes of ‘The Second Coming of Christ’, written by Paramahansa Yogananda, who was in cosmic consciousness. The following two excerpts from the preface and the introduction, explain the use of the King James Bible:
Excerpt from the preface written by Sri Daya Mata: ‘Paramahansaji quoted directly from The King James Bible, throughout, with parallel references from all the Gospels to ensure a thorough presentation of Jesus’ words.
Excerpt from the introduction written by ‘Paramahansa Yogananda ‘The thousands of books and articles about the modern scientific search for ‘the historical Jesus’ by interpretations of linguists, historians, anthropologists, and other experts, have been valuable in illumining the cultural context, in which Jesus lived, and even more importantly—how the interpretations of his teachings by diverse groups of followers changed and evolved, in the centuries after his death. None of these works, however, has supplanted the New Testament Gospels as the richest and most complete resource available about what Jesus actually said and did’.
I hope that I will be forgiven for getting this wrong in my book, which I believed at the time. In my heart, I accept the thinking of Paramahansa Yogananda, rather that of historian, Edmund Bordeaux Szekely. At primary school we used the King James Bible and here I am, at the age of 87, reverting to it for my further studies: ‘The Full Circle.
